Me and my group of friends have used this method and the photos look better than the Walgreen/CVS ones. And they are already on US passports/other stuff.

I depends on how many of them are in line already. If there are more than 61,000 with PD > 2006 then it will not help much. Also IV focuses on alleviating issues of all skilled immigrants issues not for specific group.

Nice shots, Anders. And you're right on track with your thinking about getting wheel spin to really enhance the photos mixed in with a combination of panning shots as well. There is something about wheel spin and motion that really adds to an image. Cox's pic is a great example and dan13 has some good ones in his gallery too. So the question is how much? Just enough is the answer. One of my buddies is a professional auto racing photographer. He's had mag covers and they fly him around to different tracks, even to Japan. So he's the real deal and very good and his published pans are flawless. But he says it's still trial and error and every track condition is different and it still takes a bunch to get a good one. Now he can get dialed in a lot quicker than most of us, but you get the point. Keep slowing it down until you get it. :) Hope that helps a little. Later, Kevin

Opened SR got a response letter informin that my case is within the "6months" window frame @ TSC so i guess I should see an FP notice by March 11 '08., Am a july 17 filer @ TSC, RD is Sep 11 and got EAD and AP long time back.

Hi All,
SSN office finally responded but they rejected the application. The reason specified is "department of homeland securiy is unable to verify my document. and you should contact the agency to clarify my current immigration status".
I can't start working until I get SSN as it is small company. I am their first H1 employee.
The law firm told my company that my payroll can be run using my ITIN but payroll company refused to run payroll using ITIN & asked for SSN instead.
Any suggestions , asap, will be greatly apprciated.
I am not sure who am I suppose to contact. Please help...
I am really afraid & depressed.

A good article supporting a sensible plan.
One minor correction however.
"Suppose half of these persons wish to purchase a home. If they were permitted to make a 20 percent down payment on a private home (and the average cost of a home in the U.S. today is approximately $200,000), this would result in a net financial gain of $1.6 billion immediately for American banks, not to mention improving the dismal real estate market in many areas of the country."
The figure quoted as 1.6 billion actually comes out to 16 Billion dollars if you do the math explained.

Under prior law, the CIS already had authorization to extend the status of F1/OPT holders until the October 1st H1b start date (although notably they have chosen not to exercise this power in the last few years!). The extension available upon exercise of this power by the CIS, however, only extended status but did not extend work authorization. The extension that is now available under the new regulation just published, extends not only status but also work authorization through 10/1. This extension is automatic and no separate application is required.
This regulation will work as anticipated by the CIS in subsequent years, however, there is a fatal flaw in the drafting as it pertains to this year’s H1b filings. As drafted, to be eligible for the automatic extension, the H1b application has to have been filed as an H1b change of status case. When filing an H1b petition, the form allows you to choose whether you want consular processing or a change of status with the USCIS. A change of status with the USCIS requires that you submit evidence that you have lawful status through the requested start date of 10/1/08. Most applicants who filed H1b applications under the 2009FY quota whose OPT grace period ends prior to 10/1/08, did not file their H1b applications with a change of status request because they were not eligible. Consequently, they are not eligible now for the new automatic extension. Currently, the only way to rectify this situation is through an amendment (and, the H1b cannot be amended until it is approved). Thus, the only people who will benefit from this extension are those whose OPT grace period already reached through 10/1 and now their work authorization has been extended to match, and those who filed their H1b applications incorrectly as a change of status application when they were not eligible. You are required to send a notice to your lawyer letting him know that you no longer require his/her service. Also notify USCIS in writing that your lawyer does not represent you anymore and send correspondence to you directly. If any USCIS notice addressed to you was transmitted to your former counsel, it should be available to you from counsel. You may wish to request forwarding of all post-representation correspondence that arrived after representation ceased. Although that lawyer may have no obligation to perform any services for you, the office should not impede your ability to answer USCIS requests. You should call the service center and request a copy of any correspondence that was sent to your lawyer until the lawyer sends a notice to USCIS letting them know that he no longer represents your case or until another lawyer files a G-28 for you.

Is there any relation between biometrics and the final green card approval time?
I have got annecdotal info from several friends. With one exception (because of a name check process that has taken over two years!) most people receive the green card around three months after the biometrics.
Is that the case?
Biometrics expire after 15 months. This could be renewal, however if it turns to be what you think ? than good for you.
In my case, biometrics had expired 6-8 months ago, but USCIS never informed me. My PD is current but they are saying case is struck at last background check. All other stuff like name-check, finger-prints are done.

I got my receipt numbers from the checks... I issued my personal checks where checks address is different that 485 address.... I hope this is clear... Please don't worry too much...everyone will get the receipts soon...

For some reason even I just received the LC approval, the company attorney mention that the visa number is not available yet so that he can apply for I-140 and I-485 together. As I understand the visa number is the PD?
Also what you mentioned is that there is no point of apply for I-140 now to port the PD to a new filing case because the PD is always current? Is that when you meant.

The below memo from USCIS clearly states that your H1B will be valid if you use EAD for secondary job.
2. If an H-1 or L-1 nonimmigrant or H-4 or L-2 dependent family member obtains an EAD based on their application for adjustment of status but does not use it to obtain employment, is the alien still maintaining his/her nonimmigrant status?
Yes. The fact that an H or L nonimmigrant is granted an EAD does not cause the alien to violate his/her nonimmigrant status. There may be legitimate reasons for an H or L nonimmigrant to apply for an EAD on the basis of a pending application for adjustment of status.
